Centre Stone Wizard

Jewlr had an out of date tool that allowed users to customize the centre stone for their engagement rings. I was tasked with updating this tool as well as incorporating options for lab diamonds, genuine diamonds and gemstones.

This project involved a lot of testing, prototyping and releasing components incrementally. Numerous meetings took place to hash out and wireframe the project prior to me applying a layer of design. Once the design was finalized, I built it out as a prototype and handed it off to our dev team to build. We tested the new wizard extensively, releasing it first with diamonds only, shortly followed by gemstones.

While the wizard is available for all higher end engagement rings, only some offer the full catalogue of stones and shapes. An example of a ring that has all stone offerings can be found here:

The new wizard armed users with more information for the decisions they were making as well as more options for their engagement rings. Users could now learn about the cut, colour, and clarity of their diamond. They were able to choose a centre stone that fits their specific needs. If a user wanted a clearer diamond they could spend more on that portion of their centre stone and less on the colour (if colour didnt matter to them). As a result the new wizard performed strongly in comparison to the old one and returned higher conversions across all countries. More users now went with a customized stone over a recommended one.
